Back from the BrinkBack from the Brink: The Story of the Black-footed Ferret

One day in 1981 a dog named Shep made an amazing discovery – the black-footed ferret, which was thought to be extinct, was actually still surviving in a small colony near Cody Wyoming. Chamois Andersen of Defenders of Wildlife will relate tales of how conservationists, ranchers, and citizens have brought this species back from the brink to become an emblem of survival. Learn how you can become part of this environmental success story.
