In Colorado, we love wildlife and we show it.
This week is Colorado Loves Wildlife Week, a week to celebrate how we protect wildlife here in Colorado, and to thank Governor Polis for his work in ensuring we do!
In mid-January, new rules regulating oil and gas development in Colorado went into effect. These new rules protect 12.7 million acres of wild lands, stop drilling on over 5.5 million acres, and take historic steps to protect wildlife in Colorado.
Check out some highlighted changes in our interactive story map.
Lunch and Learn: Celebrate CO’s Precedent Setting Wildlife Protections
Join us for a lunch and learn at noon (Mountain Time) on Thursday, February 11, to learn how these rules protect the wildlife we love! This presentation combines photographs and maps to tell the story of the new rules and how they benefit animals, fish, and birds across the state.
Rocky Mountain Wild is committed to making this presentation accessible to a wide audience. If you need any accommodations, please contact Alison Gallensky at firstname.lastname@example.org or 303-454-3345.
Help us get the word out
We’ve created a media kit to help you get the word out about the week and the lunch and learn! The kit includes images you can use (with proper credit), suggested Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter posts, and talking points if you want to create your own post. Feel free to use the kit to spread the word.
