  • Western Environmental Law Center is seeking a Staff Attorney to join the team in New Mexico. This position will advance an expansive package of legal strategies to facilitate a just, equitable, and managed transition away from oil and gas to address the climate crisis and foster ecological and community resilience. While centered on securing state-level reforms in New Mexico, this position will also contribute to WELC’s ambitious federal-level strategies, in particular relative to federal public lands. This full-time position will be located in New Mexico, ideally Taos or Santa Fe, with an optimal start date of September 8, 2020. Salary range is $60-100k. Deadline to apply is July 17.   • 350 Colorado is seeking a part-time, temporary Roaring Fork Team Coordinator. 350 Colorado is hiring a community organizer to aid in the growth and success of our 350 Roaring Fork team and climate organizing on the western slope/mountain regions of Colorado. The 350 Roaring Fork organizer will recruit, train and engage volunteers in climate action both at the local and statewide level. It will begin in July for 10 months. Compensation is $17 per hour.   • City of Longmont is seeking a Union Reservoir Park Ranger. Principal duties: Patrol Union Reservoir and other City property as assigned by vehicle, foot, bike or boat to insure visitor safety, resource protection and to enforce ordinances. Enforce rules and regulations of the reservoir and City owned property and issue warnings and municipal summonses as required. Help with visitor problems and provide other assistance and information as necessary. Perform computer data entry, record keeping and report writing. Greet visitor, provide instructions and collect fees at the front gate. Make daily bank deposits and report attendance figures. Maintain and repair reservoir facilities including buildings, picnic areas, restrooms, fences, ditches, range lands, trails, roads and boat dock by performing a variety of carpentry, painting, plumbing, masonry and other semi-skilled duties. Pick up litter and refuse, trim and cut down hazardous or diseased trees. Inspect boats for aquatic nuisance species. Pay range $14.81-17.77 per hour. Looking for someone ASAP. City of Longmont
  • City of Longmont is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Ranger for Button Rock Reserve. Principal duties: Patrol Preserve areas and City owned properties to enforce ordinances, rules and regulations; Engage with the public to aid with visitor concerns and provide other assistance and information as necessary; Perform first aid medical and search/rescue operations; Perform computer data entry, record keeping and report writing; Maintain and repair reservoir facilities including buildings, picnic areas, restrooms, fences, ditches, rangelands, trails, roads and boat dock by performing a variety of carpentry, painting, plumbing, masonry and other semi-skilled duties; Pick up litter, refuse and rocks from roadways and trails; Remove driftwood from reservoir structures; Cut, pull and remove noxious weeds; Perform general forestry work including trimming and cutting down hazardous or diseased trees, tree thinning operations, log removal and slash piling; Perform other related duties as assigned. Working experience with chain saws, boats, ATVs and small engines is desired. Ability to complete First Aid and CPR/AED training is necessary. Pay range $14.81-17.77 per hour.   • Environment America is seeking a Colorado Climate Defender Organizer. As a Climate Defender Organizer, you will work with our existing network of members and activists, and expand volunteer teams in key political areas and on college campuses to ensure support from local decision-makers for climate action. Whether it’s educational events, rallies, or bringing Coloradans to meet one-on-one with their elected officials, you and your volunteers will push decision-makers to lead on climate change. You’ll coordinate regular meetings between local decision-makers and constituents; coordinate rapid response media to highlight climate impacts and hold public officials accountable; and help collect thousands of petitions and personal letters on climate change. By the end of the campaign, you will have built volunteer teams in key areas that can continue the fight for Colorado’s environment for years to come.
